Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gusto Silva (ranked 8769 p4p, 689 weight class) and Long Thai (ranked 24532 p4p, 731 weight class). Long Thai will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
Thai wants to counter with a clinch but Silva pushes him away.
Thai lands a head kick. Silva smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Thai tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gusto Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt.
Thai throws out a counter right but Silva avoids it with no problem.

Thai clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Thai pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Thai lands a knee to the body.
Thai landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Silva blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Silva takes an elbow to the forehead.
Thai digs a right hand into Silva's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Silva's gas tank.
Thai comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Silva blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Thai lands a body punch in the clinch.
Silva changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Thai fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gusto Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

enabling Thai to counter with a crisp jab.

Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva advances to mount.
Thai tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silva is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Thai is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Thai flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Silva anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Thai and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Silva slips an arm under Thai chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Silva has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Silva is squeezing on Thai like an anaconda would it's prey. Thai fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
