Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Royal Pain (ranked 288 p4p, 35 weight class) and Ebyn Dall (ranked 145 p4p, 23 weight class). Pain's entrance music is AC/DC Thunderstruck. A fine choice. Dall has chosen Under the Blood as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Royal Pain!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ebyn Dall!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain throws a jab when Dall was well out of range.
Pain throws a hook but Dall avoids it easily.
Royal Pain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pain throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Dall displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pain throws out the jab.
Pain jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dall feints a counter leg kick.
Dall throws a quick inside leg kick.
Dall misses with an uppercut. Pain saw that one coming.
It looked like Pain wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Dall works the jab nicely.
Pain is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dall sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dall throws a body punch but Pain moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pain keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dall.
Dall throws a chopping leg kick but Pain manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Pain uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dall.
Pain falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dall counters with a stiff right hand.

Dall lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Dall scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pain in his tracks.

Pain shoots in and gets a takedown into Dall's guard.
Dall keeping moving, preventing Pain from controlling successfully.
Pain is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Rabid Dog that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Pain is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Dall is looking for a triangle but Pain pushes his legs off easily.
Dall keeping moving, preventing Pain from controlling successfully.
Dall utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pain's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pain is on top in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dall preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Dall keeping full guard, as Pain tries to pass.
Pain trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Dall manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Pain looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dall puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Pain is trying to get back to full guard.
Pain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pain slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Dall wants to stand but Pain has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Pain wants to sweep but no luck.
Dall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Pain controls Dall momentarily but Dall frees himself.
Dall looking to pass the guard.
Pain lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Pain stops Dall from standing up.
Pain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dall swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pain is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dall is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dall has escaped and now he's on top!

Dall pushing down on Pain's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Pain is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Dall jumps into side control!

Dall wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pain, who protects the arm well.
Pain is trying to improve his position.
Pain is working hard here to advance position.
Pain is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Dall off and has taken his back!
Dall breaks Pain's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pain tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dall trying to control but Pain is working from the bottom.
Pain controls Dall momentarily but Dall frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ebyn Dall dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Pain throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dall was covering up waiting for the punch and Pain finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Pain lands a couple of elbows.
Dall is trying to keep Pain in close.
Pain trying to control but Dall is working from the bottom.

Pain is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dall is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dall has escaped and now he's on top!

Pain manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dall's best efforts.

Pain tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Dall has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Pain tries to hold on but Dall postures up.
Dall trying to control but Pain is having none of it.
Dall has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pain working to try and regain half guard.

Dall landing strikes, looking to finish!
Dall tries to control but Pain wriggling away.
Pain keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dall looking to control but Pain is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Pain regains full guard. Nicely done.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pain is on top in guard.

Pain trying to control the position from guard on top but Dall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dall trying to keep a closed guard but Pain is proving a slippery customer.
Ebyn Dall has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pain is one step ahead there.

Dall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dall has his foot on Pain's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pain works his way back into a safe position though.
Pain is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Pain trying to control but Dall is working from the bottom.
Pain content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Dall is controlling Pain's posture.
Pain works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Dall moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Dall lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pain wants to sweep but no luck.
Pain controls Dall momentarily but Dall frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ebyn Dall will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Dall does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Dall is looking to score with low kicks.
Dall connects with an inside leg kick.
Pain cracks Dall with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Pain thuds a left hand into Dall's body.
A telegraphed right hand from Pain misses the target.
Ebyn Dall seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Dall plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Pain.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pain shoots in but Dall avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pain closes the distance and clinches up with Dall, looking for a takedown. Pain pushes Dall against the cage but Dall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royal Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dall throws a hook to the side of Pain's head but Pain sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Pain throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pain steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dall.
Dall avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dall thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dall lands a slapping body shot.

Pain tries to bum rush Dall with a series of wild strikes but Dall uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fight stays on the outside here - Pain looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pain takes one on the button.
Pain goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dall circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dall replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Pain blocks it well.
Pain uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dall has time to react.
Dall with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Pain just misses with a punch to the body.
Dall swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Pain.

Pain blocks a head kick by Dall.
Dall lands a slapping body shot.
Pain throws a right hand that misses
and Dall counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dall stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dall wants it to stay on the feet.
Pain uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dall.
Dall throws a chopping leg kick but Pain manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Pain lands a jab to the head.
Pain tries to clinch there but Dall circles away.
Dall counters with a body kick.
Pain misses the jab.
Pain drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Pain scores with a body shot.
Pain takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Pain is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dall's half guard.

Pain is looking for a kimura but Dall is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pain to get the leverage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Pain misses with a straight left.
Pain looks to land a body kick but Dall moved away.
Dall misses with a looping right.
Dall uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pain.
Dall scores with a hook.
Pain tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dall sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pain somewhat.
Pain is looking to chop away at Dall's legs.

Pain misses with a hook.
Dall tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pain was well out of range. Poor timing from Dall.
Dall thows a left - swing and a miss!
Pain tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Dall manages to circle out of the way.
Pain shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Pain lands a nice shot to the body.
The fighters circling - Dall throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Pain shoots in and gets a takedown into Dall's guard.
Dall looking to control.
Pain postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Pain drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dall looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dall looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dall!

Pain tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dall has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Dall is working for a guillotine from mount but Pain frees his head quite easily.

Pain is desperately trying to improve his position but Dall has a good base and remains in mount.
Dall controlling from mount.
Pain is looking to get to half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dall is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Pain regains half guard.
Dall trying to pass the guard but Pain defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pain is staying active underneath Dall, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dall maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Pain could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Dall has cracked it and Pain is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Dall!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ebyn Dall! Ebyn Dall retains his lightweight title!
Ebyn Dall tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
Royal Pain was interviewed post fight and said 'Shit, there goes my chance to be like Mike.'.
