Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diego Balboa!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antonio Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez fails with the takedown.
Balboa slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Balboa, as that shot connected.
Sanchez tries to clinch there but Balboa circles away.
Sanchez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Sanchez has Balboa pressed against the cage, preventing Balboa from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Balboa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Balboa defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sanchez.
Diego Balboa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Sanchez.
Balboa scores with a jab. Sanchez acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Balboa bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sanchez's head backwards.
Diego Balboa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sanchez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Diego Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Balboa takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
We've been told by Balboa's head coaches at Midnight MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sanchez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Balboa avoids it really well and circles away.
A left lands for Balboa.
Balboa cracks Sanchez with a good jab.
Balboa throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sanchez on the side of the head.
Balboa scores with a sloppy right hand. Sanchez should have avoided that one.

Balboa drops Sanchez with a straight right hand, right on the button! Balboa follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
