And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damiao Marcos!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut there from Marcos.
Marvin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Marvin there as he acknowledges the shot.
Marvin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Marcos connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Marvin momentarily.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Marcos - that will leave a mark!

Marcos moves into the clinch.
Marcos tries to throw a body punch but Marvin avoids it by throwing Marcos back against the cage.

Marcos has picked Marvin up - he's going for a ride! Marcos dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marvin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Marcos is working away from the top position though.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marvin is refusing to be controlled, as Marcos sits in half guard.

Marvin throws a wild body kick that Marcos sees coming a mile off.
Marcos slaps away a takedown attempt from Marvin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Marcos throws a head kick but Marvin moves out of range.
Marvin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marcos defends it nicely.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Marcos, as that shot connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marcos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nice strikes from Marcos there.
Marvin is positioning himself well to prevent Marcos advancing to mount.

Marvin wants to control but Marcos is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Marcos is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Marcos throwing shots but Marvin is blocking nicely.
Marvin tries to roll over but Marcos keeps him under control.
Marcos lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

We've been hearing good reports from Marvin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Marcos throws a strike but Marvin manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Marcos tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!
