The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lazzyie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cardenas is trying to defend but Lazzyie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lazzyie is looking to take a break and control but Cardenas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lazzyie is keen to just control but Cardenas is a slippery customer.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lazzyie is keen to just control but Cardenas is a slippery customer.
Lazzyie is nestled in close to Cardenas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Cardenas makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cardenas drops back looking for a leg! Lazzyie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lazzyie manages to kick Cardenas off! Cardenas jumps back into Lazzyie's guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Cardenas gets caught napping as Lazzyie dives in and scores a takedown. Cardenas manages to retain guard.

Lazzyie shoots in and bounces Cardenas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Alfie Lazzyie has got the better of the ground game so far.
A big shot lands for Lazzyie! That's hurt Cardenas! Will he recover? Lazzyie fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
