Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexi Laiho (ranked 912 p4p, 129 weight class) and AC Slater (ranked 875 p4p, 127 weight class). Laiho comes to the cage accompanied by Cold Sweat/ Thin Lizzy. Slater comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Stop What Ya Doin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! AC Slater has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, AC Slater!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater thows a left - swing and a miss!
Slater moves out of range of the strikes.
Laiho bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Slater's head.
Laiho avoids a punch combination nicely.
Laiho throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Slater fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Laiho sprawls well initially but Slater persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Laiho is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Slater seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Laiho has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Slater wants to take a breather but Laiho is having none of it.
Laiho is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Slater scores with a couple of nice shots.

Slater got a little sloppy there for a moment and Laiho has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Slater has managed to get both his arms back between Laiho's legs - danger averted.

Slater arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Laiho's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). AC Slater!
In his post fight interview, AC Slater started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
