Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Justus Sheehan Jr (ranked 942 p4p, 50 weight class) and Dolores Doremus (ranked 2315 p4p, 108 weight class). Sheehan Jr comes into the arena with Keep Ridin' blaring out of the sound system. Dolores Doremus told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
40 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Justus Sheehan Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dolores Doremus!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheehan Jr throws a one two combo.
Both fighters circling a little - Sheehan Jr finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Sheehan Jr misses with a few strikes there.
Doremus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Doremus shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sheehan Jr is trying to defend but Doremus finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Doremus looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sheehan Jr with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doremus darts in looking for a takedown but Sheehan Jr gets double underhooks and turns Doremus into the cage.

A little jabbing left from Doremus on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Sheehan Jr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Doremus takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Sheehan Jr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Doremus lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Doremus tries for a takedown but Sheehan Jr sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sheehan Jr clobbers Doremus with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sheehan Jr ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Doremus goes for a double leg but Sheehan Jr avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sheehan Jr continues to drive forward.
It looked like Sheehan Jr was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Sheehan Jr throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Doremus.
Sheehan Jr tries to bum rush Doremus with a series of wild strikes but Doremus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Doremus tries to clinch up but Sheehan Jr circles away and keeps his distance.
Doremus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sheehan Jr is fending him off so far but Doremus persists. Nope, Sheehan Jr circles away and we're back to standing.
Doremus moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Doremus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sheehan Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Doremus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sheehan Jr decides to stand up, so the ref orders Doremus to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Doremus shoots in looking for a takedown but Sheehan Jr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Doremus's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Doremus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Doremus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The strikes coming from Doremus are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Doremus connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sheehan Jr some visible discomfort.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doremus cracks Sheehan Jr with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Doremus immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Sheehan Jr is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Doremus!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dolores Doremus!
Justus Sheehan Jr was interviewed post fight and said 'I'm going to go back home and sit down with my coaches, but this could be the last time you see me in the Cage. And if it is, thank you to the fans and the OFC!'.
