Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jarrod Lynn (ranked 6233 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erick Reis (ranked 8106 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: MC Kekel - Solteiro até morrer. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jarrod Lynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erick Reis!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis looks to land a combination but Lynn avoids it well.
Lynn wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Lynn avoids a punch combination nicely.
A punch combination from Reis misses.
Lynn thinks about countering with a head kick.
Lynn tries to clinch but Reis is having none of it.
Reis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Reis throws a hook but Lynn avoids it easily.
Lynn dives in and grabs Reis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reis pushes down on Lynn's head and hops out.
Lynn fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reis lands a jab-cross combination.
Lynn takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Lynn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Lynn moves into the clinch.
Reis looking to stall.

Lynn gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lynn's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Reis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lynn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lynn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Reis has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Lynn has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Lynn pulls guard.
Lynn looking for a sweep. Not yet Lynn, not yet.

Lynn looking for a guillotine here but Reis defends easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Reis prevents Lynn from getting back to his feet.

Lynn is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Reis is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lynn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reis is controlling him.

Lynn wants to sweep but no luck.
Reis tries to free his leg and advance position but Lynn is retaining full guard.
Lynn keeping moving, preventing Reis from controlling successfully.

Lynn wants to stand and escape but Reis is having none of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Lynn misses with a takedown attempt - Reis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jarrod Lynn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jab from Reis.
We've been informed that Reis has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Reis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Reis misses with a double jab.
Reis lands a two punch combo.
Reis throws a right hand that Lynn ducks under and follows up with a left that Lynn also avoids with ease.
Reis swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Reis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lynn circles away quickly and effectively.
Lynn moves in looking to clinch but Reis pushes him off.
Lynn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lynn closes the distance and pushes Reis back into the cage.

Lynn has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Reis uses from the top position.
Lynn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lynn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reis is controlling him.

Reis wants to control from the top but Lynn keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lynn wants to get back to his feet but Reis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Reis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Reis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lynn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Good shot there by Reis.
Reis swings away with a body shot that misses

and Lynn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Reis wants to get back to striking at distance but Lynn won't allow it.
Lynn blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Lynn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lynn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Reis avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reis just misses with a punch to the body.
Lynn takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Reis misses the shot to the body.
Lynn on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Lynn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Reis fails to land with a series of punches.
Reis looks to land a combination but Lynn avoids it well.
An attempted straight right counter from Lynn misses the target.
Reis swings for the body but Lynn moves out of range.
Lynn on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Reis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lynn is looking to counter punch.
Lynn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reis is fending him off so far but Lynn persists. Nope, Reis circles away and we're back to standing.

A combination from Reis does no damage.
As Reis tries to get set, Lynn tries to push him back and clinch up but Reis manages to avoid the attempt.
Reis is breathing heavily.
Reis throws a series of punches but Lynn moves out of range.
Reis lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sloppy strikes from Reis. Those never looked like landing.
Lynn was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Lynn gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lynn is trying to trip Reis. He has hold of a leg but Reis is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lynn persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Lynn postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Lynn stands up and waves to Reis to follow him.

Lynn moves into range and clinches up with Reis.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lynn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Reis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Reis can't break the clinch.

Lynn pulls guard effortlessly.
Lynn can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Reis controls the pace.
Reis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lynn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Reis stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Lynn changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reis fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lynn slips a jab and a cross from Reis.
Reis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lynn was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Lynn gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Lynn gets control of Reis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lynn will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Lynn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reis manages to get himself to full guard.


Lynn stands up from Reis's guard - Lynn perhaps looking for a knockout.

Lynn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Reis wants to control but Lynn postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reis throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Lynn drives through and clinches with Reis against the cage.

Erick Reis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Reis moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Reis bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Reis throws a series of punches but Lynn avoids them all with ease.
Lynn throws a head kick but Reis moves out of range.
Reis is looking for the big counter here.
Reis moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Lynn fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Reis to the ground. Lynn is now in Reis's guard.
Lynn is looking to work some ground and pound but Reis has wrist control.

Lynn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lynn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Reis wants to stand but Lynn is controlling the position.
Reis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lynn decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Reis, up you get!
Lynn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Reis is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Reis misses with a straight right.
Donk. Reis catches Lynn right on the button with a cross.
Reis throws a good cross that connects.
Reis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Reis swings away with a body shot that misses

and Lynn counters by clinching up.
Reis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Reis can't break the clinch.

Lynn decides to pull guard.
Lynn wants to stand up but Reis is controlling him.
Lynn trying to keep a closed guard but Reis is proving a slippery customer.

Reis trying to control but Lynn is working from the bottom.

Reis stands and steps away. Lynn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Reis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Lynn staying out of range there.
A little feinted left hand from Lynn on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Lynn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Reis napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Lynn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Reis, who protects the arm well.
Reis tries to bench press Lynn off him but Lynn keeps the position.
Reis is pushing Lynn's head away, looking to escape. Lynn manages to hold on to the position though.

Lynn has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Reis misses with the combination.
Reis throws a series of strikes that have Lynn backpedaling.
Reis misses with a double jab

and Lynn counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Reis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lynn.

Lynn jumps into guard, dragging Reis to the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Reis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lynn's guard.
Lynn is holding on to half guard well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lynn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Reis.
Lynn gets back to full guard.

Lynn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lynn tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Erick Reis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Reis winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
