The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manchu won't allow Rogers to sweep him here.
Rogers is controlling Manchu's posture.
Rogers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Manchu's guard.

Manchu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Manchu can do anything to dispel that myth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rogers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Manchu for as long as he can get away with.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Manchu is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Rogers has taken his back.
Rogers is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Manchu wants to control his opponent's hands but Rogers gets his hands free.

Manchu closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rogers did well to prevent Manchu getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Manchu slows the pace down in half guard.

Rogers is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Manchu pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Manchu in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rogers manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Manchu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rogers works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rogers is pulling down on Manchu's head. It's preventing any offense from Manchu, at least for the moment.

Rogers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rogers wants to free his trapped foot but Manchu is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Manchu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rogers looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Manchu won't allow Rogers to pass to mount.
Rogers with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Rogers seems to be working for a kimura but Manchu defends the submission attempt.

Rogers passes to side control.

Rogers working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Rogers remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Rogers tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Rogers is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Manchu's shoulder. That is not cool.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rogers's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manchu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rogers tries to counter by clinching up but Manchu breaks away and moves out of range.
Manchu moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Rogers has got one arm under Manchu's chin. This could be trouble... Manchu trying to control the other hand but Rogers gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Manchu has tapped out! The fight is over!
