PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zombie Fighter (ranked 5929 p4p, 587 weight class) and Erik Sagstrom (ranked 3855 p4p, 439 weight class). Fighter comes to the cage accompanied by Highway to Hell. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erik Sagstrom!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Fighter misses with a double jab.
A punch combination from Fighter misses.
Donk. Sagstrom catches Fighter right on the button with a cross.

Sagstrom closes the distance and pushes Fighter back into the cage.
Sagstrom digs a right hand into Fighter's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Fighter's gas tank.
Sagstrom lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Sagstrom lands a body punch in the clinch.
Fighter is breathing heavily.
A short uppercut from Sagstrom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sagstrom lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Fighter is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sagstrom gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Sagstrom digs a right hand underneath Fighter's ribcage. Fighter let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Fighter drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sagstrom throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Fighters head.
Fighter takes a shot to the head.
Sagstrom throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Sagstrom lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Fighter is rocked!
A left hand lands to the body for Sagstrom.

Oh Fighter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sagstrom lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Fighter backwards.

Sagstrom cracks Fighter with a nice body shot.
Sagstrom throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Fighters head.
Sagstrom lands a shoulder strike.
Sagstrom creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Fighter's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Fighter drops to his knees and Sagstrom pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Erik Sagstrom!
A relieved looking Erik Sagstrom thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Zombie Fighter spoke after the fight, saying 'I'll be back, thank you everyone, my opponent was a great fighter.'.
