Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sensou Amano (ranked 8611 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aston Davids (ranked 25092 p4p, 0 weight class). Aston Davids is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amano throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Amano looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Davids should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Amano just misses with a punch to the body.

Davids closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Davids lands in his opponent's guard.
Davids wants to get up but he can't break Amano's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Davids controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Amano is looking to stand up but Davids isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davids makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Davids wants to stand but Amano has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Amano knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davids on the ground.
Davids is in close to Amano's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Amano preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Davids seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Amano is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Davids has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad The Island. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
