Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hong Chin (ranked 6369 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derk Furkinson (ranked 6203 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hong Chin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Derk Furkinson!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Furkinson's half guard.
Furkinson trying to control from the bottom.
Chin with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Furkinson wants to sweep but Chin has passed to side control!
Chin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Furkinson is trying to control Chin's posture but Chin avoids it.

Chin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Furkinson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Chin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Chin tries to stand but Furkinson is controlling his head.

Chin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Furkinson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Chin wants to take a breather but Furkinson manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Chin.
Chin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Chin trying to control but Furkinson is working from the bottom.
Chin looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Furkinson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Chin quickly recovers to half guard.
Chin tries to kick Furkinson off in order to stand up. Furkinson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Furkinson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Chin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Furkinson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chin tries to get to full guard but Furkinson has control of the leg.
Furkinson tries to pass to full mount but Chin defends it.

Furkinson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Chin has managed to free his arm - good work.
Furkinson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Chin!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Chin tries to reverse the position but Furkinson maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hong Chin dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Furkinson gets a double leg takedown into Chin's guard.

Chin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Furkinson defends well.

Chin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Furkinson has picked Chin up and slammed him! Chin can't keep hold of the triangle and Furkinson manages to pass to side control!
Chin tries to buck Furkinson off but Furkinson is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Furkinson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Chin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chin stops Furkinson from passing to mount.

Chin can't do much from the bottom here.
Chin sneaks back into half guard.

Chin is kicking away at Furkinson from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Furkinson grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Chin trying to push Furkinson off... Chin taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
