Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Paddington (ranked 3639 p4p, 327 weight class) and Curtis Longface (ranked 3679 p4p, 332 weight class). Paddington comes into the arena with Broken - Next time around blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Paddington!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtis Longface!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paddington looks for a takedown but Longface sprawls well.
Longface bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Paddington's head.
Paddington connects with a jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Longface displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Paddington.
Paddington shoots for a takedown but Longface saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Paddington. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Longface throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Paddington feinted with a counter takedown.
Longface looks to land a left hand but Paddington moved out of range nicely.

Paddington is trying to trip Longface. He has hold of a leg but Longface is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Paddington persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Longface really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paddington. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Longface wants to sweep but no luck.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Longface is adopting a defensive guard.
Longface preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Paddington postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Paddington won't allow Longface to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Longface can do anything to dispel that myth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Longface wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Longface fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Paddington manages to avoid it.

A looping hook to the body misses from Longface. Paddington does a little dance to reset his feet.

Longface throws a series of punches but Paddington avoids them all with ease.
Paddington jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Paddington misses with a hook. Longface ducked under it nicely.
Longface throws a push kick but Paddington slaps the foot to one side.
Paddington half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Paddington shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Longface but Longface pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Longface gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Longface utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Paddington throws a big right hand that misses.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Longface has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Longface blocks a jab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Longface pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Paddington fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Longface sprawls well initially but Paddington persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Paddington thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Longface's head.
Paddington is nestled in close to Longface, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that David Paddington will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Paddington's corner calls for a 1-2. Paddington obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Longface misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Paddington misses with an uppercut. Longface saw that one coming.

and Paddington counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Paddington.
Paddington slips a straight right by Longface.
Longface tries a head kick but it misses.
Paddington shoots and misses
and Longface cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Paddington fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Paddington. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Longface lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Paddington walks into a stiff left hand from Longface.
Paddington avoids a kick to the body.
Longface jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Longface bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Paddington blocks a head kick by Longface.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Paddington drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Longface tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Paddington tries to score a power double leg takedown but Longface sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Paddington somewhat.
Longface fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Paddington manages to avoid it.
Longface lands a body shot.
Longface jabs Paddington right on the nose. Paddington blinks but takes it well.
Paddington takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Longface lands with an uppercut that bounces Paddington off the cage and back into range.
Paddington takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Paddington looks to land a left hand but Longface moved out of range nicely.
Paddington fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
It seemed like Longface was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Paddington shoots in and gets a takedown into Longface's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Paddington trying to control but Longface is working from the bottom.
Longface is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Paddington stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Longface swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Paddington postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Longface is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Paddington, into his guard.

Longface controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Paddington has his feet on Longface's thighs here. He's pushed Longface off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Longface screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). David Paddington!

Curtis Longface was interviewed post fight and said 'Did someone catch the reg plate on that bus!!!'.
