The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes scores with a hook to the body. Lomachenko takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hughes moves into range and connects with a jab.
Hughes moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Lomachenko goes down! Can Hughes finish him!?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hughes content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Hughes is looking to work some ground and pound but Lomachenko has wrist control.
Hughes wants to get up but he can't break Lomachenko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Lomachenko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hughes's guard.

Hughes takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Hughes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lomachenko on the ground.

Hughes is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lomachenko asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Lomachenko is chipping away with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lomachenko has hold of Hughes's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hughes seems comfortable defending it but Lomachenko has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hughes is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hughes is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lomachenko couldn't care less - he's delighted!
