The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldridge has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Southbrook finds it's way round the side to connect with Aldridge's head.
Aldridge tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Aldridge swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Southbrook cracks Aldridge with an open hand slap.
Saiyan Southbrook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Southbrook has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Southbrook there as he acknowledges the shot.

Southbrook moves into range and clinches up with Aldridge.

Aldridge breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Aldridge fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Southbrook has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Southbrook lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Southbrook drives through and clinches with Aldridge against the ropes.

Southbrook breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Southbrook lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Aldridge goes down! The ref sends Southbrook to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Aldridge is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!

Southbrook closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Southbrook has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Aldridge throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Southbrook blocks it with crossed arms.

and Southbrook connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Oh Aldridge is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Aldridge walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Aldridge is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!

After the fight, Saiyan Southbrook was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
