Oubaali comes into the arena with Belsunce Breakdown blaring out of the sound system. Ali Oubaali has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ali Oubaali!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 50 - 61 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Hughs!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hughs gets a double leg takedown into Oubaali's guard.
Hughs stands up over Oubaali, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Oubaali looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hughs is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hughs postures up in Oubaali's guard and throws a big left but Oubaali blocks it.
Hughs postures up and lands a big shot to Oubaali's brow.

Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
Oubaali has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hughs has passed into side control.
You can see the frustration on Oubaali's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hughs lands some shots froms side control.
Oubaali knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hughs on the ground.
Oubaali struggling a bit here.
Oubaali is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hughs is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Oubaali tries to bench press Hughs off him but Hughs keeps the position.
Hughs postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The strikes coming from Hughs are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Oubaali wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Oubaali is looking to regain half guard here but Hughs keeps moving and retains side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Oubaali is trying to control Hughs's posture but Hughs avoids it.
Oubaali on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Oubaali tries to get out of the position.

Oubaali wants to get back to his feet but Hughs drags him back down.
Hughs working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Oubaali has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Oubaali is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hughs is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Oubaali creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Oubaali lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Oubaali lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Hughs tries to land a knee to the head but Oubaali blocks with his arms.
Hughs has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hughs takes a shot to the head.
Oubaali lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Oubaali managing to block the knees to the body from Hughs.

Oubaali lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hughs backwards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ali Oubaali has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Hughs throws an elbow but it misses.

Hughs is rocked!

Oubaali works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Hughs is still on wobbly legs! Can Oubaali finish him?
Hughs is breathing heavily.
Oubaali stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Oubaali lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hughs backwards.
Oubaali lands a shoulder strike.
Oubaali presses Hughs against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Oubaali lands a big right hand that drops Hughs! The killer instinct kicks in and Oubaali finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Oubaali!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ali Oubaali!
An out of breath Ali Oubaali thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
