Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Von Kromog (ranked 297 p4p, 45 weight class) and Jon Ubereem (ranked 957 p4p, 149 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Von Kromog has been cut.

It looks like Jon Ubereem has been cut.
We've been told by Kromog's head coaches at Gizmo's Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ubereem throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kromog's waist but Kromog gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ubereem off to one side.
Kromog was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Ubereem shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kromog's guard.

Kromog knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ubereem on the ground.

Ubereem jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kromog is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kromog and Ubereem has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ubereem wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kromog, who protects the arm well.
Ubereem wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kromog keeps working.

Ubereem is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kromog knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ubereem thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
