The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masvidal shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Van Hall sprawls well. Van Hall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Masvidal gets slowly back to his feet.
Diego Masvidal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Hall lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Van Hall.
Van Hall looks to land a combination. Masvidal sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Masvidal lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Van Hall is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Masvidal 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Masvidal 's back!
