Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shin Ichi (ranked 8009 p4p, 327 weight class) and Panayiotis Stavros (ranked 3482 p4p, 174 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shin Ichi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Panayiotis Stavros!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ichi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Ichi sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ichi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Stavros - the referee stops the clock and Ichi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Stavros. Ichi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Ichi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stavros as he avoids it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Stavros! But no joy.
Ichi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A good leg kick by Stavros.
Ichi on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ichi dives in for a single leg takedown but Stavros sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shin Ichi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stavros paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Stavros looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Stavros tests Ichi's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Stavros fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stavros fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ichi manages to avoid it.
Stavros jabs at Ichi's body.
Ichi closes the distance and clinches.
Still in the clinch, Stavros scores with a nice short uppercut.
Ichi is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Ichi has Stavros pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stavros manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Stavros manages to break the clinch.
Ichi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Stavros.
Stavros throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ichi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stavros's guard.

Stavros manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ichi manages to get himself to full guard.
Ichi wants to stand and escape but Stavros is having none of it.
Stavros wants to control from the top but Ichi keeps moving.
Ichi trying to keep a closed guard but Stavros is proving a slippery customer.
Stavros passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ichi manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stavros's best efforts.
Ichi wants to control but Stavros is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stavros lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ichi gets full guard.
Stavros trying to control but Ichi is working from the bottom.

Stavros pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ichi is keeping the position for now.
Stavros is posturing up here but Ichi has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Stavros tries to roll out but it's too tight and Stavros has to tap! Slick submission there by Ichi!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shin Ichi!
