PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lint Jonithan (ranked 6676 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivanov Draco (ranked 6574 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Draco gets tackled into the cage by Jonithan. Jonithan maintains the clinch.
Draco using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jonithan has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Draco ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Draco no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Draco is pulling down on Jonithan's head to control his posture.
Jonithan wants to control from the top but Draco keeps moving.
Draco has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Jonithan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Draco is looking for a triangle here but Jonithan uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Jonithan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Draco keeps working.
Draco should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jonithan is looking to advance position but Draco won't allow it.
Draco preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Jonithan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Draco knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Draco wants to get back to his feet.

Jonithan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

It looked like Jonithan was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Draco fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jonithan avoids it really well and circles away.

Jonithan misses with a takedown attempt - Draco sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jonithan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Draco is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jonithan wants to pass the guard but Draco is keeping the position.

Draco isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jonithan stacks Draco on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jonithan!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Draco shoots in for a takedown but Jonithan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lint Jonithan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Draco fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jonithan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Draco has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jonithan after a bit of a struggle.

Draco sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Draco throws out a loose jab but Jonithan uses good head movement to avoid it.
