Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bill Perkins (ranked 4271 p4p, 525 weight class) and Evan Rooney (ranked 3575 p4p, 472 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Rooney as he checks the leg kick.
Rooney throws a leg kick but Perkins sees it coming and checks it nicely.
A solid leg kick lands there for Rooney.
Rooney moves out of range as Perkins throws a body kick.
Perkins bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Rooney fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Perkins looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Perkins misses with an attempted mid kick.
Perkins throws a wild body kick that Rooney sees coming a mile off.
Rooney throws a big counter head kick but Perkins avoids it with no problem.
Rooney avoids a kick to the body.
Rooney thinks about the counter body kick.
Rooney throws a sloppy head kick and Perkins moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Perkins wants to clinch up but Rooney keeps it at a distance.

Rooney scores with a head kick. Perkins tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Bill Perkins has been cut.
Rooney tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rooney throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Perkins.
Rooney fakes the leg kick and cracks Perkins in the body.
Rooney cracks a nice hook into Perkins's ribs.
Rooney moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Rooney throws out a leg kick but Perkins moves out of range and Rooney only half commits.
Rooney takes a swing at Perkins's ribcage but misses.
Perkins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rooney tries to land a front kick but Perkins steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Perkins blocks a head kick by Rooney.
Perkins looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rooney goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Rooney thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Perkins if he has to take too many more of those.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big left from Perkins misses.
Perkins moves out of range as Rooney throws a body kick.
Perkins wants to stay close but Rooney steps back to make room for something. Perkins seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Rooney and Perkins drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
