Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Braddock (ranked 1495 p4p, 182 weight class) and Butch Vandergnaw (ranked 2418 p4p, 286 weight class). Vandergnaw has chosen I've Been Everywhere as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Butch Vandergnaw!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Braddock lands a jab.
Vandergnaw blocks a jab.
Vandergnaw takes one on the button.
Braddock throws a hook to the side of Vandergnaw's head but Vandergnaw sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Braddock throws out a loose jab but Vandergnaw uses good head movement to avoid it.
The crowd cheers as Braddock lands an impressive looking overhand right. Vandergnaw doesn't seem phased though.

Braddock fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vandergnaw, pushing him back against the cage.
Vandergnaw misses with a shot to the kidneys.
I was talking to Braddock's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Braddock breaks from the clinch.
Braddock misses with a wild body shot.
Vandergnaw looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Braddock uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vandergnaw.
Braddock wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Vandergnaw digs a good body shot into Braddock's ribs.
Braddock works Vandergnaw's body with a nice hook.
Vandergnaw bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Braddock throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vandergnaw looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
John Braddock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Braddock pushes Vandergnaw up against the cage in a clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Braddock makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Braddock escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vandergnaw throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Braddock throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Braddock misses with an uppercut.
Braddock lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Vandergnaw is rocked!
Vandergnaw looks up at the clock. Bad move! Braddock lands a right hand from hell, dropping Vandergnaw. Braddock pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Braddock!
John Braddock retains his heavyweight title!
