The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Rob.
Rob moves away from the strike by Smith.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rob manages to avoid it.
Rob tries to counter with a takedown but Smith is quick to defend against it.
Jake Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rob keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rob is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smith.
Good exchange - Rob coming out on top.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've been hearing reports that Rob has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Rob swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Smith.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rob.

Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rob seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Smith shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Rob is backing up but Smith catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Rob covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Smith Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
