Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 5131 p4p, 449 weight class) and Eric Cartman (ranked 8159 p4p, 573 weight class). Nate Diaz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cartman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Diaz defends it well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cartman's waist but Cartman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side.

Cartman drops back looking for a leg! Diaz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Diaz manages to kick Cartman off! Cartman jumps back into Diaz's guard.

Cartman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Diaz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cartman, into his guard.

Diaz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cartman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diaz has managed to get both his arms back between Cartman's legs - danger averted.

Eric Cartman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Diaz goes for a double leg but Cartman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cartman continues to drive forward.
Horrible takedown attempt by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Cartman, which made it look bad.

Well Cartman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
