PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wilner Fatiman (ranked 6358 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alison Lopes Ferreira (ranked 6573 p4p, 0 weight class). Fatiman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Zion Train. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopes Ferreira shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fatiman as he avoids it easily.
Lopes Ferreira shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fatiman but Fatiman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lopes Ferreira shoots for a double leg takedown but Fatiman sprawls well. He's pushed Lopes Ferreira's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wilner Fatiman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alison Lopes Ferreira.

Fatiman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lopes Ferreira sprawls well initially but Fatiman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lopes Ferreira tries to get to full guard but Fatiman has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fatiman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Lopes Ferreira wants to get back to full guard but Fatiman has mounted him!

Lopes Ferreira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fatiman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lopes Ferreira wants to control but Fatiman postures up.

Fatiman decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lopes Ferreira to his feet.

Fatiman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

and Fatiman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lopes Ferreira won't be happy with that.
Fatiman is staying tight to Lopes Ferreira's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Fatiman is working to tighten his grip on Lopes Ferreira's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Lopes Ferreira has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Fatiman is really squeezing tight and eventually Lopes Ferreira passes out! Fatiman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
