PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gamma Knox (ranked 7283 p4p, 249 weight class) and Hamish McTavish (ranked 9470 p4p, 289 weight class). Knox comes to the cage accompanied by Marilyn Manson | The Fight Song. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McTavish misses with a head kick.
McTavish tries to score a power double leg takedown but Knox sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McTavish somewhat.
McTavish takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Hamish McTavish has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McTavish uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knox.
Knox looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
McTavish fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Knox checks it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McTavish lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

McTavish wants to control from the top but Knox keeps moving.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McTavish is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

McTavish working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Knox doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Knox manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Knox is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

McTavish drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Knox defends it well.

and Knox makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Knox lands with a good body shot.
Knox connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Knox moves into range and connects with a jab.

Knox takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Knox is looking to wear down McTavish with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
McTavish looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Knox bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McTavish has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Knox finds it's way round the side to connect with McTavish's head.
Knox fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Knox connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McTavish momentarily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Knox takes a swing at McTavish's ribcage but misses.
Nice uppercut lands for Knox. That snapped McTavish's head back.

enabling Knox to counter with a crisp jab.
McTavish gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
McTavish throws an off balance right hand
and Knox counters with a right hand to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Knox connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McTavish's hands.
McTavish looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
McTavish rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Knox makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

McTavish gets a double leg takedown into Knox's guard.
McTavish with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

McTavish really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Knox. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McTavish distracts Knox with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Knox controls McTavish momentarily but McTavish frees himself.
Knox is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McTavish can do to turn this around?

McTavish is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Knox is hurt! He's hurt bad - McTavish fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Knox from any more punishment! Congratulations to McTavish! Great finish!

Hamish McTavish decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
