Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terunari Kagiyama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Solomon Slater!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kagiyama scores with a push kick.
Kagiyama throws a leg kick which misses Slater's front leg but catches the back leg as Slater tries to avoid it.
Kagiyama lands a nice leg kick that just misses Slater's sensitive parts.
Slater moves out of range of the strikes.
Kagiyama swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Slater counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kagiyama uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Slater.
Kagiyama uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Slater has time to react.
Slater walks into a stiff left hand from Kagiyama.
Kagiyama throws a shot from downtown. Slater moves away and avoids it.
Kagiyama misses with a wild body shot.
Kagiyama is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Slater.
Kagiyama lands a nice looking body shot.
Terunari Kagiyama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Slater closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Sloppy strikes from Slater. Those never looked like landing.
Kagiyama throws a big shot that misses.
Despite the aggression on Slater's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Slater throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kagiyama lands with a good body shot.
An inside leg kick lands from Kagiyama.
Kagiyama lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Slater at a distance.
Kagiyama lands the left hand.
Slater misses with a wild combination.
Kagiyama jabs Slater right on the nose. Slater blinks but takes it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slater throws a sloppy head kick

and Kagiyama counters with a beautiful punch that sends Slater to the canvas!


Slater is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kagiyama stops Slater from standing up.
Slater is still in real trouble! Can Kagiyama finish him?
Kagiyama is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kagiyama trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Slater seems to have recovered his senses.
Kagiyama trying to control but Slater is working from the bottom.
Slater working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kagiyama.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kagiyama throws a big elbow that misses.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Slater lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kagiyama has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kagiyama and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Slater tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kagiyama was well out of range. Poor timing from Slater.
Slater needs to keep his hands up - Kagiyama had a free shot at his head there.
Slater throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Slater keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kagiyama.
Kagiyama changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slater tries to avoid it but Kagiyama manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slater to the ground. Slater escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Slater on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kagiyama tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Slater was well out of range. Poor timing from Kagiyama.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheers as Slater lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kagiyama doesn't seem phased though.
Kagiyama goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Kagiyama throws a quick inside leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Slater takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Slater is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kagiyama.
A little feinted left hand from Kagiyama on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Slater throws an off balance right hand
and Kagiyama counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kagiyama swings for the body but Slater moves out of range.
Slater misses the jab.
Kagiyama lands with a straight right. Slater didn't see that one coming.
That kick from Kagiyama tenderised Slater's leg. Slater is trying to keep his angry face on.
Slater connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kagiyama. Kagiyama circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kagiyama shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slater but Slater pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terunari Kagiyama dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Slater lands a glancing blow to the side of Kagiyama's head.

Kagiyama misses with an uppercut
and Slater counters with a huge right that knocks Kagiyama out cold! Slater is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Solomon Slater!
