Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Earl (ranked 6441 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Fort (ranked 4523 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Earl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Fort!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Earl fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A head kick misses from Earl.
Fort takes a swing at Earl's ribcage but misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fort.
Fort looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Earl is fending him off so far but Fort persists. Nope, Earl circles away and we're back to standing.

Fort clinches with his opponent.

Fort breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Earl shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fort but Fort pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Earl tries for a takedown but Fort sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Earl. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fort moves into range and clinches up with Earl.

Fort manages to break the clinch.

Fort avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fort lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Fort shoots in but Earl avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fort has closed the distance and engaged Earl in a clinch.
Fort tries for a takedown but Earl manages to get underhooks.
Earl swings wildly with an uppercut but Fort uses good head movement to avoid it.
Earl can't break the clinch.

Fort wants the takedown. Earl is fighting it off but Fort persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Earl's guard against the cage.
Fort is standing up over Earl. Earl looks to escape but Fort dives into side control.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fort tries to move to mount but Earl blocks the move with his legs.
Earl is looking for a sweep.

Fort decides to stand back up. Fort steps back and let's Earl get back to his feet.
Earl throws a head kick that misses.

Earl rushes Fort and presses him up against the cage.
Fort is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Earl is defending well for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Earl is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Earl tries to break free but Fort pushes him back against the cage.

Earl gets underhooks to prevent Fort's takedown attempt.

Fort tightens his grip and picks Earl up, before dumping him to the ground. Earl manages to land in guard.
Fort is looking to work some ground and pound but Earl has wrist control.
Fort chips away with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fort seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Fort trying to control but Earl is working from the bottom.

Fort pushes down on Earl's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Fort is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Earl is just riding it out for now. Fort eventually gives up the hold.
Fort is taking a breather. Earl says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are battling for position here. Earl manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fort shoots in for a takedown but Earl shows good takedown defense.
Earl tries to clinch but Fort moves out of range.
Earl fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Earl shoots in looking for a takedown but Fort manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Earl's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fort has managed to clinch.
Earl tries a body shot but Fort blocks it.
Earl is trying to push Fort away but Fort has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Fort jumps guard and drags Earl to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Earl trying to control the position from guard on top but Fort is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fort had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Earl defends it easily.

Fort tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Earl missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Fort trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Earl is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Earl has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Earl drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fort manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Earl has Fort in his guard.


Fort stands up and waves to Earl to follow him.

Fort is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've been informed that Fort has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Earl stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Earl wants it to stay on the feet.
Fort has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fort closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fort wants to control but Earl is keeping him busy.
Fort working the head and body with strikes.
Fort is keen to just control but Earl is a slippery customer.

Fort looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Fort is looking to take a break and control but Earl is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Fort is working for a kimura but Earl is defending it quite comfortably.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jack Fort showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Fort slaps away a takedown attempt from Earl, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Earl tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fort sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Earl somewhat.

Fort displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Earl.

Earl is looking for a sweep. Fort is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Fort wants to lay and pray for a moment but Earl keeps working.

Fort decides to stand up.

Fort rushes Earl and presses him up against the cage.
Earl is trying to push Fort away but Fort has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Nice body punch from Fort - that landed with a thud.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fort jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Earl walks away with a smile on his face. Fort gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Earl tries to clinch up.
Earl backing away here, and Fort unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Fort shoots for a double leg takedown but Earl sprawls well. He's pushed Fort's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fort or perhaps it was just good defense by Earl, which made it look bad.

Fort shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Earl tries a head kick but it misses.
Fort unleashes a big counter combination but Earl bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Earl shoots in but no luck this time.
Fort is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Earl with a body shot.
Fort fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Earl throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fort circles away from the clinch attempt.
Earl has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fort finds it's way round the side to connect with Earl's head.
Fort has a takedown stuffed.

Earl misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Earl tries to clinch but Fort moves out of range.

and Fort counters with a head kick.

Fort has closed the distance and engaged Earl in a clinch.
Fort fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Fort digs a right hand underneath Earl's ribcage. Earl let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Earl blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fort tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Fort breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Fort comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fort has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
