The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Siliva shoots and misses
and Alves makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Alves cracks Siliva with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Wanderson Siliva has been cut.
Alves scores with a hook to the body. Siliva takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Siliva fails with the takedown.
Siliva takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Donk. Alves catches Siliva right on the button with a cross.
Siliva takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Siliva shoots in looking for a takedown but Alves manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Siliva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Alves throws out a counter right but Siliva avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wanderson Siliva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Siliva takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Tom Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alves keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
