The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Ferguson both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Denis Ortiz has been cut.
Nice sprawl there from Ferguson as Ortiz shoots in.
Ferguson throws a big counter combination but Ortiz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Ferguson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ortiz throws out the jab.
Ferguson misses with a two punch combination.
Ortiz looks for a takedown but Ferguson sprawls well.
Ortiz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ferguson as he avoids it easily.
A little feinted left hand from Ferguson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Duncan Ferguson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Denis Ortiz.
Ortiz slips a jab and a cross from Ferguson.
Some wild striking there from Ferguson.
Ortiz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ferguson.

Ferguson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ortiz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Oooooh!!! Ferguson has knocked Ortiz down with a huge combo! Ferguson steps away and waves a wobbly Ortiz back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ortiz drops his hands momentarily. Ferguson doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Ortiz staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Ortiz doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Duncan Ferguson!
