Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jose Cronos (ranked 4838 p4p, 224 weight class) and Bee Jay (ranked 6226 p4p, 289 weight class). Cronos's entrance music is Sandstorm. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Cronos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Bee Jay!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jay misses with a leg kick
and Cronos counters with a nice uppercut.
Cronos looks to score with a jab to the body but Jay is just out of range.
Jay looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Nice sprawl there from Cronos as Jay shoots in.
Jay connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Jay fails with the takedown.
Cronos looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Danga de danga de dang - Cronos scores with a four punch combination!
Jay wants to clinch.
Cronos comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Cronos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jay.
Jay throws the kick towards the body but Cronos avoids it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jay.
Cronos pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jay back to the cage. Cronos follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Nice defenses there by Cronos.
Cronos fires out a quick counter leg kick but Jay just manages to avoid it.
Jay dives in and grabs Cronos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cronos pushes down on Jay's head and hops out.
Jose Cronos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bee Jay.
Cronos jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Jay gets a clinch.
Cronos working hard to break the clinch.
Cronos is trying to break free.
Cronos wants to get back to striking at distance but Jay won't allow it.
Cronos looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Jay wants to take the fight to the mat but Cronos manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Jay manages to break the clinch.
Jay has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Jay fails with the takedown
and Cronos counters with a left to the body.
Jay fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jay gets cracked there but stands up to it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cronos moves out of range of the strikes.
It looked like Cronos was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jay.
Some wild striking there from Cronos.
Cronos lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Cronos.
Jay thumps Cronos with a low kick.
Cronos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jay.
A jab lands there for Jay.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cronos works the jab nicely.
Nice body kick there by Cronos.
Cronos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jose Cronos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jay misses with a takedown attempt - Cronos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
It looked like Cronos was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jay.
Cronos lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Cronos lets loose with a powerful body kick. Jay will feel that in the morning.
Jay throws a solid leg kick but Cronos takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jay.
Cronos misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cronos closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Jay feints and then cracks Cronos's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cronos down.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jay shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cronos as he jumps to the side.
Bee Jay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cronos throws a head kick that half lands.


Jay is rocked!
Jay tries to clinch but Cronos is having none of it.

Jay clinches up against the cage.
Cronos tries to circle away but Jay has him pinned against the cage.

Cronos breaks from the clinch.

Jay clinches with his opponent.
Jay stalling the fight.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jay.
Cronos is trying to push Jay away but Jay has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Cronos breaks from the clinch.
Cronos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cronos wants it to stay on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jose Cronos dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Jay tries to clinch but Cronos is having none of it.
Cronos appears to be looking for a big counter.
Jay shoots in looking for a takedown. Cronos tries to sprawl out of it but Jay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cronos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jay fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jay shoots for a double leg takedown but Cronos sprawls well. He's pushed Jay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cronos throws the kick towards the body but Jay avoids it.
Cronos throws a shot to the body.

Jay clinches.

Cronos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cronos blocks a low kick nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Cronos is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jay can do to turn this around?

Cronos manages to break the clinch.

Jay moves in looking to clinch but Cronos pushes him off.
Cronos fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jay has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jay keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jay showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cronos.
Nice uppercut lands for Cronos. That snapped Jay's head back.
Jay misses with a leg kick

Jay is looking to clinch but Cronos is avoiding it.
Jay avoids the body shot from Cronos.
Jose Cronos is winning the standup battle so far.
Cronos lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Jay connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Jay misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jose Cronos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bee Jay.

Donk. Cronos catches Jay right on the button with a cross.
Jay on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jay tries to clinch up.
Jay uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cronos.
Jay throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cronos checks a leg kick.
Cronos slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jose Cronos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jay on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Cronos listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Jay is still on wobbly legs! Can Cronos finish him?
Cronos cracks Jay on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Jay falls backwards against the cage. Cronos follows up with more strikes that drop Jay to his knees. Cronos keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Jay! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jose Cronos!
Jose Cronos decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
