Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Don Fagaro (ranked 798 p4p, 85 weight class) and Dante Esposito (ranked 903 p4p, 101 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Fagaro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dante Esposito !
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fagaro moves out of range as Esposito strikes.
Esposito looks to land a left hand but Fagaro moved out of range nicely.
Esposito works Fagaro's body with a nice hook.
No luck for Fagaro with that takedown attempt.
Esposito slaps away a takedown attempt from Fagaro, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've been hearing reports that Fagaro has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fagaro is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Esposito really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fagaro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fagaro wants to control from the top but Esposito keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Esposito has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Fagaro is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Fagaro goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Esposito is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Fagaro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Esposito .
Esposito lands a left hand that snaps the head of Fagaro backwards.
Esposito pushes Fagaro back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Esposito tries to work over Fagaro's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Fagaro throws a head punch that misses.

Fagaro jumps guard and drags Esposito to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Fagaro is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fagaro tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Fagaro has his foot on Esposito 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Esposito works his way back into a safe position though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fagaro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Esposito can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Fagaro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fagaro has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Esposito should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Fagaro has tightened it up now! Esposito should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
