Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Drake Basket Case (ranked 4075 p4p, 366 weight class) and Alexander Magomedov (ranked 8086 p4p, 543 weight class). Basket Case kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Crazy. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomedov throws a head kick that misses.

Basket Case moves into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Basket Case - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

I was talking to Basket Case 's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Magomedov wants to get back to striking at distance but Basket Case won't allow it.

Magomedov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A looping hook to the body misses from Basket Case . Magomedov does a little dance to reset his feet.
As Basket Case backs off Magomedov throws a huge counter combo but Basket Case manages to avoid it all.
Magomedov misses with a few strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Magomedov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Basket Case . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Basket Case is trying to control. Magomedov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Basket Case takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Basket Case works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
