The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vicious misses with a straight right.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Vicious , as that shot connected.
Gatsby looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gatsby is working for a kimura here but Vicious manages to reverse the position and he's now in Gatsby's guard.
Vicious wants to stand but Gatsby is controlling his posture from full guard.
Gatsby controls Vicious momentarily but Vicious frees himself.
My spies in NYC Striking Academy inform me that Vicious has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Vicious must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vicious content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Gatsby has locked up a guillotine! Gatsby's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Vicious is holding on here and Gatsby must be using up a lot of energy. Vicious has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Gatsby gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

During a confident post fight interview, Joe Gatsby thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
