The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia just misses with a punch to the body.

Hendrix changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Garcia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hendrix is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Garcia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hendrix goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Garcia rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hendrix's guard! Nice work there by Garcia!
Hendrix wants to improve his position but instead Garcia has moved into half guard.

Garcia throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Hendrix stumbling backwards into the cage! Hendrix bounces back off the cage towards Garcia, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Garcia lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Garcia celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
