PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Castaneda (ranked 9470 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trey Daniels (ranked 8401 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castaneda scores with a spinning back kick!
Daniels throws out a powerful jab.

Castaneda moves into the clinch.

Castaneda breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Daniels throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Castaneda's waist but Castaneda gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Daniels off to one side.
Castaneda wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Castaneda slaps away a takedown attempt from Daniels, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Castaneda rushes Daniels and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniels throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Castaneda.
Castaneda shoots in but no luck this time.

Daniels jumps guard and drags Castaneda to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Daniels had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Castaneda defends it easily.

Daniels is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Castaneda is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Castaneda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Daniels on the ground.

Castaneda stands and steps away. Daniels gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd cheers as Daniels lands an impressive looking overhand right. Castaneda doesn't seem phased though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Castaneda really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Daniels tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Castaneda just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jackie Castaneda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trey Daniels.

Castaneda has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Daniels uses from the top position.

Daniels falls off balance throwing a combination
and Castaneda counters with a thumping low kick.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Daniels tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Castaneda paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Castaneda breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Castaneda tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Daniels jumps into guard, dragging Castaneda to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Castaneda gets to his feet - Daniels follows without any prompting.
Daniels's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Daniels duly obliges.

Trey Daniels seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Daniels cracks Castaneda with a hook to the temple - Castaneda is on wobbly legs here! Daniels swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Castaneda falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Daniels wins by TKO!
