PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mallador Locke (ranked 1821 p4p, 277 weight class) and Bryan Paul (ranked 2220 p4p, 340 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mallador Locke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryan Paul!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Locke counters with a takedown into side control.
Paul tries to buck Locke off but Locke is having none of it.
Locke throws an elbow but Paul slips to the side and avoids it well.
You can see the frustration on Paul's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Locke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paul keeps working.
Locke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Locke in side control lands a decent elbow.


It looks like Bryan Paul has been cut.
Locke trying to control the action but Paul is working from the bottom.
Locke is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Locke working the body and head with strikes.
Paul managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Locke.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Locke scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Paul to see if he's OK.


That has opened up Bryan Paul's cut even more.
Paul gets back to half guard.

Locke looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Locke performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Locke is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Paul tries to get to full guard but Locke has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Locke connects with a nice short shot to Paul's temple.


Bryan Paul's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bryan Paul's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mallador Locke!
Mallador Locke bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
