PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lock Bresnar (ranked 1918 p4p, 69 weight class) and Halo Olah (ranked 1707 p4p, 60 weight class). Bresnar comes into the arena with ABOVE THE LAW - murder rap blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lock Bresnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Halo Olah!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Olah misses its intended target.
Olah fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bresnar manages to avoid it.
A big right from Bresnar misses.
Bresnar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Olah sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bresnar somewhat.
Bresnar looks to land a combination. Olah sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Halo Olah has been cut.
Bresnar swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Olah now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Bresnar lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Olah circles away quickly and effectively.
Olah looks like he wants to counter punch here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bresnar lands with a straight right. Olah didn't see that one coming.
Bresnar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Olah moves away.
Bresnar lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Bresnar fails to land with a series of punches.
Olah connects with a body shot that sends Bresnar's belly button to the back.

Bresnar looks to land a left hand but Olah moved out of range nicely.
Olah throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bresnar seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Bresnar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Olah sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Olah takes a swing at Bresnar's ribcage but misses.
Olah connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Olah turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Bresnar fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Bresnar has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Midnight MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Bresnar moves away from the strike by Olah.
Bresnar avoids the body shot from Olah.
Bresnar throwing a counter right hand but Olah manages to avoid it.
Bresnar misses with a few strikes there.
Bresnar takes one to the side of the head.
Olah lands the left hand.
Bresnar misses with an uppercut. Olah saw that one coming.

Bresnar misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Olah.
Olah is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bresnar rather than just go for the knockout.
Bresnar walks into a stiff left hand from Olah.
Bresnar's corner calls for a 1-2. Bresnar obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Olah lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Sloppy strikes from Bresnar. Those never looked like landing.
Olah rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bresnar counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Bresnar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Olah is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Olah tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Bresnar takes a little break here. Olah wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bresnar cracks Olah with a big elbow.
Olah tries to bench press Bresnar off him but Bresnar keeps the position.
Bresnar slows the pace down.
The ground and pound from Bresnar seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Bresnar controlling from side mount.
Bresnar throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bresnar looks up at the clock and then as Olah takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bresnar smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bresnar trying to control the position but Olah is working away.
Bresnar working the head with strikes.
Olah tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Bresnar throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Bresnar is putting a hurting on Olah here, landing some big shots from side control.
Olah wants to get back to his feet but Bresnar drags him back down.
Olah on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Olah sneaks back into half guard.
Olah is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bresnar scores with a couple of nice shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lock Bresnar dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Halo Olah's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bresnar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Olah sprawls well. Olah wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bresnar gets slowly back to his feet.
Lock Bresnar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Olah looks to throw the jab but Bresnar is out of range.
Olah looks to land a left hand but Bresnar moved out of range nicely.
Bresnar jabs Olah right on the nose. Olah blinks but takes it well.
Bresnar takes one to the side of the head.
Bresnar swats away the attempt to clinch by Olah.
Bresnar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Olah can do to turn this around?
A head kick misses from Olah.
Olah takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Olah throws a shot from downtown. Bresnar moves away and avoids it.

Olah loads up on a big right hand but Bresnar slips the punch.

Bresnar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Olah throws a big shot that misses.
A leg kick checked by Bresnar.
Bresnar smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Olah is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bresnar.
Bresnar bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Olah's head backwards.

Bresnar cracks Olah with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Bresnar has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Olah to stand back up!


Olah is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bresnar circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Olah to the canvas! Olah doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Bresnar keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lock Bresnar!
Lock Bresnar very nearly forgot to thank Underworld Clothing amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
