Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Connor McGregor (ranked 3457 p4p, 342 weight class) and Aaron Blood (ranked 7346 p4p, 553 weight class). Connor McGregor had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Blood!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Blood shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A head kick misses from Blood.
McGregor seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Blood fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
McGregor is looking to clinch but Blood is avoiding it.
Blood tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
McGregor connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
McGregor throws a head kick but Blood moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from McGregor. No joy for Blood on that attempt.
Blood avoids a punch combination nicely.
McGregor throws a jab but it's blocked by Blood.
Blood tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Blood tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McGregor was well out of range. Poor timing from Blood.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blood circles away from the clinch attempt.
McGregor uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Blood.
McGregor throws a big counter combination but Blood scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
McGregor throws a head kick that misses.
McGregor has managed to clinch.
Blood tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Connor McGregor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Blood.

McGregor lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Blood fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
McGregor throws a head punch that misses.
McGregor lands with a light punch inside.
Blood is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from McGregor.
Blood is working for takedown but McGregor is calmly controlling the position for now.
McGregor using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Blood has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Blood managing to block the knees to the body from McGregor.
Blood is trying to pull guard but McGregor turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
McGregor scores with a nice hook to the head.
Blood blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
McGregor gets through Blood's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
McGregor lands a hook that snaps the head of Blood backwards.
McGregor scores with a shoulder strike.
McGregor misses with the head strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blood is trying to pull guard but McGregor has him pressed against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGregor lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Blood to his knees! McGregor keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Connor McGregor!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Connor McGregor waved his t-shirt featuring MayheM sportswear's logo in front of the cameras.
In defeat, Aaron Blood stepped up to the mic, saying 'Jacob Whitehorse was too much for me tonight. The better game plan won tonight. I will wear this belt again, mark my words!'.
