PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hirusho Matasaki (ranked 3438 p4p, 488 weight class) and Bartholomew Razzers (ranked 6256 p4p, 727 weight class). Bartholomew Razzers told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Razzers looks to score with a jab to the body but Matasaki is just out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Razzers. Matasaki does a little dance to reset his feet.
A left and a right from Matasaki both land. Nice combination.
Matasaki shoots in for a double leg but Razzers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Matasaki fails with the takedown.
Matasaki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Razzers throws out the jab.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Matasaki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Razzers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Matasaki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Matasaki shoots in for a takedown but Razzers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Razzers! But no joy.

Razzers drops Matasaki with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Matasaki looks back up at him and smiles so Razzers waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Matasaki is rocked!

It looks like Hirusho Matasaki has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Razzers pushes Matasaki against the ropes. Razzers is working some dirty boxing. Razzers pushes off with a quick right hook! Matasaki goes down! Matasaki tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Razzers moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
