PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tragic Visions (ranked 5714 p4p, 295 weight class) and Finnish Experiment (ranked 10200 p4p, 440 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Visions falls off balance throwing a combination
and Experiment counters with a two punch combo.
Visions throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Experiment sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Visions backing away here, and Experiment unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Visions throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Visions ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Experiment moves away.
Experiment avoids a punch combination nicely.
Visions throws a right and a left that both miss.
Visions shoots in and drives through. Experiment sprawls well.

Experiment drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Experiment tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Visions is not content to let Experiment control the position.
Experiment really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Visions. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Experiment throwing strikes but Visions manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Experiment is staying active underneath Visions, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Visions looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Experiment felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Visions postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Visions postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Experiment is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Visions, into his guard.

Experiment throws an elbow that misses. Visions uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Experiment's guard. Nice move by Visions!

That was a close round but I would say that Tragic Visions will probably get the nod.

and Experiment counters with a crisp one two that drops Visions! Experiment thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Visions to his feet! Visions is in big trouble!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tragic Visions. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
