Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Alistair Overoid (ranked 7920 p4p, 115 weight class) and Vladimir Smirnoff (ranked 7870 p4p, 114 weight class). Overoid's entrance music is Sensation Anthem 2004. A fine choice. Alistair Overoid has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alistair Overoid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vladimir Smirnoff!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overoid throws a series of punches but Smirnoff avoids them all with ease.
Overoid lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.


It looks like Vladimir Smirnoff has been cut.
Smirnoff gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Smirnoff lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Overoid goes down! The ref sends Smirnoff to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Overoid is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!


It looks like Alistair Overoid has been cut.
Vladimir Smirnoff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smirnoff throws the kick towards the body but Overoid avoids it.
Smirnoff throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A left lands for Overoid.
Smirnoff throws the kick towards the body but Overoid avoids it.
Overoid connects with the punch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Overoid, as that shot connected.

Overoid has closed the distance and engaged Smirnoff in a clinch.
Smirnoff working hard to break the clinch.
Smirnoff throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Overoid blocks it with crossed arms.
A short right from Overoid on the inside.


That has opened up Vladimir Smirnoff's cut even more.
Overoid taking a breather.
Smirnoff can't break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smirnoff is struggling to control the position.
Smirnoff misses with an elbow over the top.
Overoid lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Smirnoff throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Overoid avoiding damage as Smirnoff throws knees to the body.
Overoid keeps control of Smirnoff as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Smirnoff throws a punch but it's blocked by Overoid.
Smirnoff misses with a hook to the ribs.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Smirnoff fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Smirnoff being controlled against the ropes.
Overoid is trying to maintain a safe position but Smirnoff gets an underhook and turns Overoid into the ropes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smirnoff lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Overoid throws a knee to the head but misses.
Overoid slowing the pace effectively.
Smirnoff is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Overoid is keeping busy.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Smirnoff creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Smirnoff wants to stall.
Smirnoff working hard to break the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Smirnoff just misses with a elbow thrown towards Overoid's brow.
Smirnoff swings away with an uppercut that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vladimir Smirnoff will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Overoid lands a slapping body shot.
Overoid feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Smirnoff's calf.

Overoid gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Smirnoff missing with knees to the body.
Smirnoff wants to get back to striking at distance but Overoid won't allow it.
Overoid slows down the pace here.
Overoid is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Overoid seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Overoid stalling against the ropes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smirnoff throws an elbow that misses.
Overoid prevents Smirnoff from breaking the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smirnoff landing knees to the head.
I was talking to Overoid's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Overoid's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Smirnoff is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Overoid keeps control of Smirnoff as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Overoid avoiding damage.
Overoid taking a breather.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alistair Overoid.
A jab from Overoid does it's job there.
Smirnoff is looking to clinch.

BAM! Overoid delivers a spinning backfist that drops Smirnoff like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Alistair Overoid!
Alistair Overoid seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
