Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hector Verama (ranked 245 p4p, 38 weight class) and Billy West (ranked 180 p4p, 23 weight class). Verama kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Swing It Away. West has chosen Rebelution - So High as his entrance music. Hector Verama is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West misses with a straight left.
West tries for a takedown but Verama circles away easily
and Verama counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Billy West has been cut.
Verama scoring well with a low kick there.
West has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
West misses with a low kick.

Verama connects with a leg kick. West looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

West tries to bum rush Verama with a series of wild strikes but Verama uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Verama counters with a nice low kick that buckles West's knee momentarily.
Hector Verama is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Verama feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends West sprawling to the canvas! West rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Verama finish him?!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

West fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Verama avoids it really well and circles away.

West takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Billy West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Verama darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
That has opened up Billy West's cut even more.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Verama counters with a crisp right hand that drops West! Verama lets West back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

The cut man is working on Billy West's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but West might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Verama has got the better of the exchanges.

No joy there for West, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Verama drops West with a straight left! Oh this is bad for West! Verama dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

A relieved looking Hector Verama thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
