PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raheem Nazir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randall kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Jasmine . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Joshua Randall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Raheem Nazir!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nazir sprawls well. Nazir wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Randall gets slowly back to his feet.
Randall swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Nazir counters with a nice double leg into side control. Randall won't be happy with that.
Randall tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Randall wants to get back to his feet.
Check out the look on Nazir's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Randall takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Nazir wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Randall, who protects the arm well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nazir is chipping away with strikes.
Nazir controlling the position from side mount.
Randall is trying to improve his position.
Randall is trying to buck Nazir off.
A lull in the action here.

Nazir is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Randall has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Randall wants to control but Nazir postures up.

Nazir stands up.

Nazir drives through and clinches with Randall against the cage.

Nazir wants the takedown. Randall is fighting it off but Nazir persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Randall's guard against the cage.
Randall is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Nazir dives into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Randall takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nazir scoring with punches and elbows.

Nazir tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Randall is working to avoid the ground and pound but Nazir connects with a decent elbow.
A lull in the action here.

Nazir is working to tighten his grip on Randall's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Randall has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Nazir is really squeezing tight and eventually Randall passes out! Nazir breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Raheem Nazir!
