Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ace Rob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orlando Boom has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ace Rob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orlando Boom!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom moves out of range of the strikes.
Rob looks to throw the jab but Boom is out of range.

Rob manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Boom on his heels. He'll look to pass Boom's guard now, I'm sure.
Boom is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rob dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rob trying to control the position but Boom is working away.
Boom trying to remain calm as Rob controls from the top position.
Boom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rob. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rob is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Boom knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Rob thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rob scores with a couple of short elbows.
Rob has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Boom pushes Rob away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rob gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rob looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Rob tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Rob is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Boom has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Boom's face as Rob controls the position.
Rob lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Boom down.

Rob is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boom is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Rob is looking to take a break and control but Boom is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rob is trying to get an arm triangle but Boom is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rob trying to control the action but Boom is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Boom is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rob has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Rob grinds an elbow into Boom's temple.
A lull in the action here.
Boom wants to get back to his feet.

Rob tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Boom is pushing Rob's head away, looking to escape. Rob manages to hold on to the position though.

Rob thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Rob is working Boom over with some ground and pound from side control.

Rob looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Rob wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boom keeps working.
Boom is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rob has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Boom bucks up and tries to throw Rob off but instead Rob has got his back!

Rob is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Boom is defending well though. Rob let's go of the attempt for now.
Boom trying to get back to his feet but Rob is in full control for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rob is working for a rear naked choke. Boom is not defending it well and Rob has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Boom refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Boom's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ace Rob!
