The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Riggs does no damage.
Spareno let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
A looping hook to the body misses from Riggs. Spareno does a little dance to reset his feet.
Spareno throws out a counter right but Riggs avoids it with no problem.
Riggs uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Spareno.
Riggs fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Riggs lands with a straight right. Spareno didn't see that one coming.
Spareno throws a lazy right hand but Riggs sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Spareno moves away from the strike by Riggs.

Riggs shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Riggs showed some decent athleticism there.
Riggs trying to control the action but Spareno is working from the bottom.
Riggs is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spareno won't allow Riggs to pass to mount.
