Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Misha Collins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Don Gotti!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gotti shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gotti showed some decent athleticism there.
Collins regains full guard. Nicely done.

Gotti avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Collins keeping moving, preventing Gotti from controlling successfully.
Collins avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Gotti slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Collins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Collins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Collins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gotti controls the pace.

Gotti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Collins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gotti controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Collins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gotti is aware though and is defending well.
Gotti trying to control the position from guard on top but Collins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gotti postures up and lands a big shot to Collins's brow.

Collins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gotti gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gotti throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Collins works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Collins controls Gotti momentarily but Gotti frees himself.
Collins is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gotti is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Collins lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Gotti has his foot on Collins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Collins works his way back into a safe position though.
Gotti is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gotti wants to control from the top but Collins keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gotti works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Collins is looking to improve his position.

Collins looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Gotti pushes past his half guard into mount!
Collins tries to reverse the position but Gotti maintains control.
Collins wants to hold on but Gotti pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gotti is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Collins has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Don Gotti dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Collins gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Gotti throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Collins on the side of the head.
Collins thuds his right hand into Gotti's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Collins looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Gotti throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Collins tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gotti is in Collins's guard.

Collins looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Collins is looking to control Gotti's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Collins avoid being mounted?
Gotti has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gotti frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gotti trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Collins is looking to improve his position but Gotti isn't that keen on the idea.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gotti has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Collins's face.

Gotti with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Gotti can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Collins is looking to escape.

Gotti has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Collins sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Collins is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gotti pulls his head out easily.

Don Gotti was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
