Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joran Akerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sinn Maya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sinn Maya struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Sinn Maya told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akerman misses with a looping right.
Akerman throws a jab when Maya was well out of range.
Maya staying out of range there.
Maya slips a straight right by Akerman.
Maya shoots in for a takedown but Akerman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Maya has closed the distance and engaged Akerman in a clinch.
Maya breaks from the clinch.

Akerman throws the left hand but Maya avoids the punch easily.

Akerman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Maya throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Akerman's waist but Akerman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maya off to one side.

Maya looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Akerman is fending him off so far but Maya persists. Nope, Akerman circles away and we're back to standing.

Maya's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Akerman's corner calls for a 1-2. Akerman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Akerman throws out a loose jab but Maya uses good head movement to avoid it.

Akerman bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Maya's head backwards.

Akerman throws a lazy right hand but Maya sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Maya changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Akerman tries to avoid it but Maya manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Akerman to the ground. Akerman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maya is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Akerman has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Maya. Oh but Akerman has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Maya goes limp - he's gone! Akerman jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
