The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan throws a shot from downtown. DeSilva moves away and avoids it.
The fighters circling - Ryan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
DeSilva tries to counter with a takedown but Ryan is quick to defend against it.
Ryan lunges at DeSilva with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by DeSilva's hand.
Jimmy Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ryan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ryan has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Horrible takedown attempt by DeSilva or perhaps it was just good defense by Ryan, which made it look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan throws out a leg kick but DeSilva moves out of range and Ryan only half commits.
DeSilva's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ryan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! DeSilva scrambles back to his feet.

DeSilva manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ryan's guard. Nice work there by DeSilva.

DeSilva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ryan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

DeSilva dives in for a single leg takedown but Ryan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

DeSilva darts in looking for a takedown but Ryan gets double underhooks and turns DeSilva into the cage.

DeSilva has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ryan.
Ryan bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
DeSilva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ryan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. DeSilva looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
DeSilva shoots in for a takedown but Ryan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

DeSilva has control of Ryan's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ryan regains control of the situation pretty easily.

DeSilva remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
