PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between John King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Osama Bin McTaggart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McTaggart has chosen Slough Feg - Tiger Tiger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Osama Bin McTaggart!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McTaggart scores with a hook.
King seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
McTaggart takes a swing at King's ribcage but misses.
King throwing a counter right hand but McTaggart manages to avoid it.
King lands a jab to the nose.
King connects with a right hand. McTaggart shakes it off.
King fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McTaggart manages to avoid it.
King misses with a straight left.
McTaggart tries to move into range but King moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
McTaggart misses with a body shot.
King tries to clinch up.
King throws out a loose jab but McTaggart uses good head movement to avoid it.
McTaggart now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
McTaggart tries to land a front kick but King steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
McTaggart fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
McTaggart moves out of range of the leg kick from King.
King ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McTaggart moves away.
King tries to close the distance and clinch but McTaggart swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McTaggart doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
King fails to land with a series of punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McTaggart throws a half hearted mid kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McTaggart takes a swing at King's ribcage but misses.
King cracks McTaggart with a good jab.
King walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. McTaggart checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
McTaggart is clearly trying to counter these attacks from King with a body shot.
McTaggart motions for King to come forward. McTaggart throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
King walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McTaggart lands with a shot to the body.
King wants to clinch but McTaggart slips to the side
and McTaggart makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
John King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King throws a body kick that misses
and McTaggart connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
King fails in his attempt to clinch.

McTaggart pushes King up against the ropes in a clinch.

McTaggart manages to break the clinch.
King throws a nice inside leg kick.
McTaggart staying out of range there.
King fails with an attempt to clinch.
McTaggart swats away the attempt to clinch by King.
McTaggart looks like he wants to counter punch here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King misses with an uppercut
and McTaggart counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A looping hook to the body misses from McTaggart. King does a little dance to reset his feet.
King throws a lazy uppercut
and McTaggart counters with a lovely shot to the body.
McTaggart throws a body shot but no joy.
King throws an ugly left hook that misses
and McTaggart counters with a nice uppercut.
McTaggart misses with a leg kick.
McTaggart lands with a kick to the ribs.
McTaggart fakes high and swings low for a body shot but King manages to avoid it.
King throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
King misses with a jab, cross combination.
King throws a left and a right that both miss
and McTaggart counters with a nice body shot.
King ducks under a wild hook from McTaggart.
A punch combination from King misses.
McTaggart changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
King throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Osama Bin McTaggart dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


King keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A left lands for King.
McTaggart walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McTaggart has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
McTaggart listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
King shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from McTaggart! But no joy.
McTaggart throws a leg kick that misses.
King throws a head kick that misses.
Some wild striking there from King.
Despite the aggression on McTaggart's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
McTaggart does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
John King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A nice combination there by King.
King misses with the combination.
King misses with a right hand
and McTaggart counters with a three punch combo that has King backing up. King nods at McTaggart to acknowledge the strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!

King takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


McTaggart is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
King catches McTaggart with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and McTaggart forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). John King!
John King spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Osama Bin McTaggart was interviewed post fight and said 'I think i saw the ghost of michael jackson. He was reading a book and eating fruit!'.
